The UK government is taking a leading position for all businesses to be carbon net zero by 2050

From whichever stage in the journey to carbon net zero, be it day one, we will get you to where you want to be over a time period that suits you.

We do it all. We’ll conduct a carbon audit to establish your carbon footprint, identifying areas for reduction and offsetting within the business as part of an ESG carbon management strategy.

For the offset solution we then source and test the land, design the site for enhanced carbon sequestration and biodiversity enhancement, plant all the trees and maintain the woodland.

Wanderlands manage any grants applications, helping with administrative and regulatory matters regarding Woodland Carbon Units and Biodiversity Net Gain Credits too.

Beyond this we offer support to create onsite educational experiences, and can support post-marketing with the crafting of unique sustainability stories and promotional collateral.

Over the last 200 years, we have lost almost 500 species of native wildlife, in England alone.

- Natural England

Our native wildlife, commonly referred to as biodiversity, is in drastic decline.

The importance of biodiversity offsetting and biodiversity net gain is growing rapidly across the UK. The recently passed Environment Act constitutes a legal mandate for development planning and infrastructure projects to evidence a minimum 10% biodiversity net gain, with long-term habitat security for at least 30 years.

In response to social and legal actions, we established within Wanderlands the Wanderlands Environment Bank service. This aspect of our business specialises in delivering practical, effective carbon credit offset and biodiversity net gain solutions, enabling property developers, LPA’s and landowners to achieve positive nature conservation.

The Woodland Carbon Code (WCC) is the standard for woodland creation projects in the UK which generate verifiable Woodland Carbon Units (WCU’s). A WCU represents a tonne of carbon dioxide which has been removed from the atmosphere by woodland creation.

As standard, Wanderlands will register sites with the Forestry Commission, validating to the standard of the Woodland Carbon Code that it can generate Woodland Carbon Units (WCUs). The WCUs will be applied, along with any Biodiversity Habitat Units, to offset the residual carbon footprint of a Wanderlands client and support their journey to carbon net zero.

Using the approved Defra metric, we measure biodiversity impacts and identify compensation needs from development. Combined with an assessment of all sectoral stakeholders, we then deliver proven outcomes for the restoration and preservation of nature.

Quantifying the impact of development (habitat loss) and creating habitat net gains through appropriate compensation schemes enables us to support our clients with ‘sustainable development’, as defined by the National Planning Policy Framework.

Wanderlands offer the ongoing commitment of quality protection for planning authorities, landowners, developers, and conservationists. When it comes to our carbon offset and BNG approaches, our team ensure maximum biodiversity, wildlife and community benefit.

Net gain is an approach to development and land management, which leaves the natural environment in a measurably better state than it was before.

We use habitat features as a proxy measure that translate into Biodiversity Habitat Units (BHU’s), as set out by DEFRA’s* Biodiversity Metric. Wanderlands sites are working examples, having already generated both WCUs and BHUs to help offset carbon and biodiversity footprints.

Looking to gain lifetime engagement for you and your clients? Be vocal about the causes that matter to you. With climate change in full effect, there’s no time like the present to communicate that your business is doing something about it.

Our marketing team are here to help businesses create emotionally stimulating promotional collateral that tells your well crafted sustainability narrative. As custodians of newly planted woodland, your journey to reach carbon net zero will be an indelible part of your brand equity and legacy.

Our natural solutions deliver carbon net zero and biodiversity net gain outcomes so that you can take your Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) goals to the next level.

Investors, partners and customers, even potential recruits, now formally or informally assess many aspects of ESG/CSR when making decisions on companies to invest in, do business with, buy from, or work for.

Add value to your ESG and CSR campaigns by offsetting your carbon and biodiversity footprints to help protect the longevity of your business and our planet.

Wanderlands work directly with leading suppliers to bring our clients the lowest emission advanced fuel available in the market. Our biofuel partners are all verified under UK industry standards and are successfully supporting our clients to decarbonise their transport fuel and take action on climate change.

HVO is a renewable diesel fuel made by a hydro-treatment process converting vegetable oils to paraffins. This biofuel represents a new generation of cleaner transport fuel that offers immediate air quality improvements and supports the decarbonisation of transport fuels.

One diesel vehicle has the same CO2e emissions as ten vehicles powered by advanced, sustainable bio fuel.

We’ll help you switch your diesel to reduce emissions of particle pollution by up to 85% and CO2 emissions by up to 90%. Instantly. It’s probably the easiest and fastest way your business can make a positive climate impact.

Our partners store several million litres of fuel in the UK at any time. They operate from a collection of bulk depots around the UK to optimise delivery time, minimise mileage and ensure business continuity for clients.

We’d love to hear from you.
